The liturgical reading for this week has included Psalm 52:0-9 for three days.
It’s so fitting.
In this week’s news, there have been numerous reports of megachurch pastors finally facing accountability for a wide range of moral failures - including, in regards to Robert Morris, the egregious crime of child sexual abuse.
My takeaways from Psalm 52:
- God has always opposed “heroes” who love evil and lie.
- Bullies have taken refuge in their destructive behavior for millennia.
- Despite their evil, we can still flourish as we trust God’s love.
What hope do you find in Psalm 52?
