What book has most helped you understand Genesis?

Hi friends,

A member of my church has asked for book recommendations as he and his wife take the time to study Genesis.

Two resources that come to mind are:

Michael LeFebvre, The Liturgy of Creation: Understanding Calendars in Old Testament Context

John Lennox, Seven Days That Divide the World

As for academic commentaries, I understand that Gordon Wenham and Derek Kidner’s commentaries are well regarded.

What books and resources have you found helpful?

I have found Jacob Nuesner and Umberto Cassuto very helpful in recalibrating my view. You can add to that the Walton books, Michael Heiser, and for those who like video the Bible Project.
I have also put on my to be read list John Sailhamer’s book.
