Something I’ve been dwelling on in the last few weeks is the truth that we can approach the throne of God directly through Jesus:
1 Timothy 2:5 (ESV): For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
The more I hold this in comparison to the Old Covenant, where the Israelites could only approach YHWH through the High Priest, continual sacrifice, and standing in designated areas of the temple gives me a fuller understanding. Recently I’ve also contemplated this in contrast to modern New Age practices of needing a medium or substance use to access spiritual realms. I watch people struggle and strive to find a conduit to the other world, and here we are as Christians with full access to the Father through the blood of the Son. It becomes more wonderful the more I think of it. Why would we not spend our time in constant prayer when the presence of God is so fully available to us all the time?
