Three steps in service/ministry

This is something I learnt yesterday from Luke 9
Luke 9:16,17 - Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people.
They all ate and were satisfied and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken broken pieces that were left over.

Three steps that Jesus did as he served:

  1. looked up to heaven = Acknowledged God, looked to God in prayer and expectation
  2. gave thanks = He thanked God
  3. broke them…gave them = He then did the work

The end result - 1) all ate and were satisfied and 2) there was enough left over for the disciples.

My calling as a disciple is to feed the sheep (John 21:15). This is how Jesus fed His sheep; this is how I ought to do too.
