My social media feed is overflowing with political commentary this week. The way that our government has chosen to speak about the war in Iran appears to have angered just about everyone I know.
Today’s Daily reminded me that Jesus is the King who stands with the oppressed. He is not a king who is ambivalent about truth, but uses it to stand with those who have been harmed by false accusation and maligning language.
What aspect of Jesus’ character as king encourages you?
I’m encouraged by knowing Jesus is king and lord over all, despite what may happen in our earthly reality there is a greater power and a better place with God. “You would have no authority over me at all,” Jesus answered him, “if it hadn’t been given you from above.” It’s comforting to know God is at work in all situations, even when it seems we have no control.
