Has anybody watched the deep end video’s on youtube by taylor welch?if so what do you think of his Christianity. I really like his videos.he has really interesting guests like seers and prophets on there.
Hi @danny3,
I haven’t done a deep dive on Taylor Welch’s channel, and I appreciate you bringing it up.
From looking at it a little bit, he is using unusual terminology (“the legal system of heaven”) that suggests a speculative approach to Christian teachings, rather than grounding what he says in the Scriptures.
To provide a more detailed example, one of his videos repeatedly expresses what is known as the prosperity gospel. Here are some quotes:
- it is an oxymoron for you to be a person filled with the power of Jesus and for you to be broke
- (if you are poor) “you are being oppressed demonically and you are operating according to the rule and regulation of Satan himself”
He claims that Joseph represents God’s endorsement of capitalism. But capitalism was not invented at this time. This is a misguided claim. It sounds Biblical, but it demonstrates a lack of understanding about the Bible.
He seems to think that there is a formula you can learn to be financially successful. Faith + paying a mentor + applying what they teach you = $$$. That’s not at all what the Bible is about. The goal of faith is faithfulness, not financial prosperity. It is to be like Christ, not to worship money.
There’s nothing wrong with following Jesus and earning a good income, but those two are not directly linked the way he is claiming.
I think he is very entertaining, charismatic, and savvy, but I do not think he is offering good Bible teaching.
He has the most interesting guests i think i find a lot of thing’s confusing but loved micah turnbo especially, hes a seer and prothet isi was a great interview too.
