Hi. Thank you for sharing the strong word of God, Carson, with the Uncommon Pursuit program.
Finding strength in relationships has been pressed into my life over the past year. I had been very active in Christian leadership through many years. Yet there have been areas of my life that were not surrendered to God, in spite of how much I realized the importance of full surrender.
I experienced the depth’s of God’s love surrounding me in such powerful ways this past year. And in relationship with other men, I experienced the freedom and joy of giving up control of my “selfishness “ to Him.
As I struggled to accomplish a deep spiritual transformation and surrender to God, I learned that I couldn’t fully accomplish that on my own.
Praise God for the incredible blessing of sharing life and our hearts with loving believers. While the struggle to surrender is a daily challenge, what joy to experience the fullness of God!
Today I am working with other men on this journey. In my church we are looking to begin a specific “Discipleship Pathway” focused on helping other men experience fullness in their spiritual journeys. It aligns so perfectly with what I see your posts suggesting.
My wife and I will celebrate 50 years of marriage in another year. We have never been closer. Praises be to Christ the king for His grace and purposes in our lives.
I strongly encourage you to continue impacting people’s lives with this ministry. What a blessing using internet technology to accomplish God’s work!
Thank you for sharing your testimony of God at work in your life! It is an encouragement to me and everyone else who will read it.
Overcoming selfishness is … extremely difficult, at least for me. To see God do this work in your heart, and in the lives of the men around you, is the most powerful witness we have.
I’ve heard from one other small group that they have loved going through the Academy together - doing the lessons online, on their own, then using the discussion questions when they gather together (https://academy.uncommonpursuit.net/). If a group rate would serve your church, I’d be glad to work something out for you.
If there’s any other way I can serve you, just let me know. It’s an honor to be doing this ministry.
Hi Carson, Thank you for taking time for the thoughtful personal encouragement. That means so much to me.
I pray for your ministry. I also encourage others to utilize Uncommon Pursuit. Loving others and building them up individually while encouraging them to engage in community is exactly a Christ-like approach.
