Here’s my question; I was asked the question “If you could have a superpower, what would it be”. Everyone in the class had a different answer. (it was a study group at church) Some of the answers came across as selfish, even though they weren’t meant to be. What would be your superpower? Mine would be obedience.

That’s a great question, and a very interesting observation.
I have been meditating on Matthew 5:3 this week, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.”
It’s challenging to figure out what my superpower would be if Jesus invites me to a poverty of spirit!
I think the truthful answer is that I would like to have the wisdom to understand what it means to be like Christ, and why that is good for me. I think if I knew what to do in each situation, and was confident that I would be blessed to act like Jesus in that situation, obedience would be easier.
I’m curious to hear what others will say.

You’re right. I think that being humbler myself would definitely help. I still try to do too much on my own, even though I know how that always turns out.
