One of the dominant emotions I see on social media, news channels, and major websites is FEAR.
The articles seem to write themselves.
These OTHER PEOPLE are doing something SHOCKING.
It’s SCARY. Be AFRAID.
Thankfully, WE are BETTER. With US, you are SAFE.
Perhaps I am fear-mongering to create a sense of safety in Uncommon Pursuit. I don’t want to do that!
I want to ask a harder question: what provokes us to fear our neighbors?
How has God helped you to love the people close to you - the ones with names and stories - instead?
