Drifting or anchored? Let's find our confidence in Jesus

Opening Prayer:

Jesus, my firm foundation, sometimes life feels shaky and uncertain. I don’t always know where I’m going, if I’ll get there, or if something will happen to knock me off course. Help my soul to know that I am anchored to you, my Rock. Help me to navigate every challenge in light of your truth and love. Amen.

Old Story:
I am adrift, disconnected from my purpose in life. I am easily tossed around by what comes my way.

Biblical Truth:

In Christ, I have a solid foundation. Jesus is my cornerstone.

God is empowering me to build my life in union with Christ.

Verses:
“Everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on rock.” (Matthew 7:24)

My New Story:
Today, I am hearing and practicing God’s word.

Whatever my circumstances, and no matter what changes, Christ is always my rock.

I can trust that Jesus gives my life eternal stability and direction.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Where do I feel adrift? What areas of my life need to be intentionally grounded in God’s word?

  2. When and how will I dig deeper into God’s Word for stability and direction?

  3. What daily habits and practices will remind me that I am already firmly anchored to Christ?

Creative Exercise:

Go on a walk. Along the way, find and pick up a small stone.

Bring it home and place it somewhere you can often see it — and remember that Jesus is the rock of your life.
