Sometimes we are in situations where we dont find the help we seek. Even the best of our efforts dont seem to meet the need of the moment. We can feel lonely and discouraged in the challenges we face. We may struggle to trust God. But the reality is that God is always our help and He wants us to turn to Him each day. Psalm 146:5 tells us that happy are those whose help is God. God helps those who can’t help themselves! The psalm goes on to describe God’s response to the oppressed, the hungry, the prisoner, the blind, the weighed down, the sojourner, the widow and the fatherless. As I read the psalm, I was moved by the love of God our Father who only has our best interests at heart and the promise of contentment in Him.
